I drove to Raleigh for the day, to visit family and pick up Alex from a late evening flight and decided to see a bit of the city on my own.  I had lunch with a book at the Pharmacy Cafe, and spent the next hour walking through the Oakwood neighborhood.  Every street was overgrown with wildflowers and magnolia trees and signs welcoming me to Raleigh.  This, I thought, is why people and birds flock to the south.
