This trip -- rivers and oceans, hours on the screen porch, favorite fish dinners, smoked chicken salad everyday, my mama's hydrangea blooms, exploring downtown history, dreaming of dogs and houses and a life lived somewhere slow.

We drove north yesterday and, while I'm so content to be home, I'm already thinking of our next trip.  I left feeling so full and realized, somewhere in Delaware, that it's quite possible to feel homesick for two places at once.  'Til Christmas, New Bern.
