The weekend brought the coldest days I've seen since living in Ithaca and the last of our Christmas celebrations. One side of my family celebrates in early January and it's always a welcome last bit of cheer before taking down lights and trees. Most years, I struggle with the days and weeks after Christmas. This year, though, I feel ready to clear out our decorations and settle into the winter season, armed with candles and cups of tea and thoughts to pour out on the page.
