lately

making warm salads, with all the veggies that will fit in a skillet
eating dinners alone, more often than we'd like
drinking a bottle of malbec we scooped up from a local vineyard a few weeks back
listening to the soundtrack from little women, a fall favorite
watching the deuce
wanting a four-day work week, always
looking at the sunshine colors creeping onto the leaves outside my office window
waiting an end to this semester -- it's made things trying at work and at home
wondering about the best ways to serve others well
loving morning rituals -- podcasts, tea, journals
wearing so many stripes lately
smelling cups and cups of breakfast tea
knowing that difficult seasons have purpose and beauty to them
laughing at stories we tell in the dark
thinking about ways to be more grateful, and a better friend
wishing for quiet and peace this week
