last day of summertime

Three weeks into September, the very last day of summertime -- we've settled ourselves into new school years, found a new rhythm to our mornings, said goodbye to tomato season and welcomed the weekly haul of root vegetables from the farm, left windows open on cooler evenings.

I've struggled to name this time, this space.  There is so much uncertainty knit into the next few seasons -- it seems as we're filled with more questions with each passing week.  Feeling immeasurable gratitude for my husband, who gave me time this week to rest and read and write.
