12 April 2018
A whirlwind of a week, all before Wednesday -- but -- there are tiny blooms filling our neighborhood, the gardeners have planted pansies all across campus, the weekend's promising sunshine and seventies.
I've felt so blindsided by this month, by the change of seasons. April is always a mess of celebrations and endings, of tying up loose ends, of reminding myself that done is better than perfect. And so, as my work week starts to feel as though it might swallow me whole, I've tried to find solace in little things -- a date over Thai food in the middle of the week, a friend who sends over a new book and a note of encouragement, a walk for iced tea after morning meetings. Springtime is here, all blessings and pollen.
